*Food-Contact Compliance of Our NOS Paper Tubes

The food-contact materials of our three-piece NOS paper tubes were tested by TÜV SÜD (an accredited testing laboratory) for substances of concern relevant to food contact. The testing included, among other substances, formaldehyde, glyoxal, pentachlorophenol (PCP), heavy metals (lead and cadmium), azo dyes, PAHs, phthalates, benzophenone and antimicrobial constituents. All test parameters were met.

The food-contact materials comply with:

EU Regulation No. 1935/2004 (materials and articles intended to come into contact with food)

BfR Recommendation XXXVI (paper and board for food contact)

Sections 30/31 of the German Food and Feed Code (LFGB)

EU Regulation No. 2023/2006 (Good Manufacturing Practice)

REACH Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006

The heavy metals lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), mercury (Hg) and hexavalent chromium (Cr VI) were measured for all four variants. The sum of all four values is far below the limit of 100 mg/kg specified by the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR, EU 2025/40).

NOS kraft 2c (kraft paper/black) Suitable for dry foods. Brown virgin-fibre paper on the inside; on the outside, black paper with a linen finish combined with kraft-brown recycled paper. The materials were tested for substances relevant to food contact, including colour transfer and azo dyes. The measured heavy metal levels (Pb, Cd, Hg and Cr VI) are far below the PPWR limit. All test parameters were met.

A Declaration of Compliance in accordance with EU Regulation No. 1935/2004 is available and can be provided upon request.

Note: Responsibility for determining the suitability of the packaging for the respective contents lies with the packer. The available tests relate to dry foods.
